Drop-in Centre

Please note our drop-in space is temporarily closed to members during the COVID-19 pandemic. During this time, we are operating a harm reduction window that hands out harm reduction supplies, basic food, water, and coffee, some hygiene and PPE supplies, as well as information and resources Monday – Thursday 10:00am – 4:00pm.

  • We are currently conducting an accessibility audit of our drop-in space and will update this page once this is complete!

Outreach Mentorship Program

In honour of beloved Junebug, the outreach and mentorship program provides members with education and on-the-job-training for outreach work in the community. Outreach workers provide outreach services in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside neighbourhood, as well as nearby areas. They meet with members in outdoor settings to provide point-of-contact support and referrals, and to distribute safer sex and drug use harm reduction supplies.

One-on-one support services

PACE support workers meet members where they are at by providing non-judgmental and confidential emotional support, individualized goal and safety planning, debriefing, accompaniments, and advocacy based on our members’ self-identified needs. We provide support in areas including but not limited to: mental health, violence and sexual assault, grief and loss, legal, ID, criminal justice, employment transitioning, trans-specific services, and substance use. We also provide support for families and friends of sex workers.

Counselling

We provide free or by-donation counselling services for sex workers from a collaborative, trauma-informed, sex positive, and rights-based approach.

Gender Self-Determination Project

This project is open to all trans, two-spirit, and non-binary persons to assist with legally changing their names and gender markers on government identification. There is currently a waitlist (approximately 4-6 months) for access to the program.

Peer Health Navigation

We provide support, advocacy, and assistance with discharge planning for members who are hospitalized. We can provide transportation to the hospital and help getting home safe after a hospital stay. We help manage medical appointment schedules and provide accompaniments to medically relevant services.

Sharing Circle

This is an open group for all members that identify as Indigenous, Métis, Inuit, and/or First Nations. This peer-led group provides a respectful, non-judgmental environment for our Indigenous members to connect to culture. With the assistance and guidance of Elders, the Circle receives teachings and learns how to respect and use different medicines, listens to the stories from Knowledge Keepers, and learns how to apply these practices in a person-centred way. Stories are shared that celebrate each other’s successes and supports each other’s struggles.

This Circle runs every Thursday 11am – 2pm and is limited to 6 participants each week.

Trans Luncheon Club

A weekly meal program and drop-in service for transgender, two spirit, non-binary, and gender diverse folks who have lived or living experience in sex work. A meal is shared, stories are heard, and a safer community space is created through the Luncheon club.

This group runs every Tuesday 11am – 2pm and is limited to 8 participants each week.

Legal Clinic

In partnership with UBC’s LSLAP, PACE can, dependent on the nature of the legal issues, provide legal support services for PACE members.

Sex Worker Occupational Health and Safety

We recognize that current laws that criminalize sex work increase harm toward sex workers including but not limited to discrimination, stigma, violence, harassment and abuse, police brutality, barriers to accessing health care and justice. We work to increase the health and safety of members by providing collaborative educational workshops and resources to address the impacts of structural violence and systemic oppression.

This group runs every Monday and Wednesday from 4-6pm, and is limited to 6 participants per session.

Public Education

We offer public training and education to individuals, organizations, and groups who wish to learn more about sex work, supporting sex workers, the impacts of the law on sex work, sex work law reform, and advocating for policy and systems change to advance sex workers’ rights. Our trainings are sliding scale and we do not turn anyone away for lack of funds.
